Let's get right to the heart of the matter with Deputy Chief Blaettler. Stop and think, first can you really trust him? He was supposedly a friend of Chief Everett, now he is suing him. If he can do this to Chief Everett, another police officer, what kind of respect do you think he has for the lower rank & file? The point is he is the one that can't be trusted.
I have been living in Union City for over 35 years and thought I've seen it all but how low can a person go? This I do know, since Joseph Blaettler's been on the UC police force, he has supported Mayor Bob Menendez, then Mayor Bruce Walters and now Mayor Stack. Is this the kind of person you want running the police department, I don't think so. He's not a leader, he is a follower and the rank & file should take a clear hard look.
It's about time that the UC police stand up and support your Chief Charles Everett and get politics out of the police department; he needs your support. Now is the time!
Promotions should be rewarded by merit, not for sweeping the streets on Saturday political patriotism, kissing butt. We need a police department with integrity and that American justice which is slipping away. This is your time to send a message; stand up, do the right thing. Don't be fooled by Deputy Chief Blaettler, his actions speak much louder than his words. Support your Chief Charles Everett.
