Dear Editor:

Please allow me to publicly thank and compliment those who were responsible for bringing about the World War 2 Veterans High School Diploma Program and those who planned and worked so hard arranging the May 17 and 18 prom and graduation events.

The New Jersey Department of Education and the New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs are to be commended for making it possible for veterans to get high school diplomas.

Committee Chairmen Michael Germann and Michael Gehm did a super, super job. Board of Education members, Town Officials, School Superintendent Gus Scerbo, the many volunteers, all deserve credit for the roles they played. Secaucus High School Principal Pat Impreveduto did a great job handling the graduation night ceremonies.

The prom night music and dancing was very enjoyable and the dinner and service was great and everyone had a good time.

On graduation night, the high school gym was filled to capacity, and the guest speakers were all well received, the crowd was very enthusiastic and everything went off just fine.

I am very proud and thankful to have been among the veterans receiving diplomas and I very much appreciate the efforts of all who were involved.

Paul Amico
Former Secaucus Mayor
