HOBOKEN -- Debate continued over the weekend about a Hoboken zoning board member who posted a satirical letter to the FBI on her blog. In the Hoboken Reporter letters, Ricky Mason, husband of Councilwoman Beth Mason, criticized the blogger. He drew several impassioned responses.

I can see why the Mason's are trying to blunt the satire on their boy Occhpinti as they have reportedly invested over $30,000.00 to get him elected to the City Council to be Mrs. Mason's swing vote before they and the Russo family lost control of the City Council when the people of Hoboken decided to vote their majority out of office after six months.

If Ms Pinus is to be judged for her satire, one must consider the satire that has been the Mason record in office.

What criticism is there to take seriously? Idiots like you pretending an obviously silly post on an obviously silly website contains an actual threat? You're either really cynical or really stupid. I'm betting on really cynical. The bad news for you is that you're so cynical that you might as well be stupid because you're fooling no one. NO ONE.

actually i can think of a few other people who give a rat's a-- about lane: you. and the people below you. bajardi is probably not even reading these boards anymore and you bring his name up just about 15x a day. maybe it's time to start taking criticism seriously and not going batsh-- every time you think lane is writing something?

Wanna know your first mistake LANE-ofDiamonds? Thanks to all the cr@p you've done in this town, all the character assassination, all the dirty tricks - - no one but NO ONE gives a rat's about Lane Bajardi except Lane Bajardi.

You're worried about that useless sack because you ARE that useless sack LANE. Wanna know how we know Beth pays you? Because you haven't worked in years and no one would do THAT MUCH DIRT for free LANE-ofDiamonds.

Here's a free tip. If you want to misspell your name to make people think you are someone else LANE, do it the same way every time.

Graphix you keeping stating that it is a fact Bajardi is paid by Mason. How do you know that to be true? You also state as a fact that Bijard is a target of an FBI investigation. How do you know that is true? Do you know where Hoffa is buried?

Whoa. I'm invoking the mercy rule. From the looks of it, nobody in the would-be Mason for Mayor operation seems to have the intestinal fortitude, any valid talking points, or the gumption to don the recommended firefighter's togs to shoulder up to Mr Mason and take on this most blistering of raging debates. So I will retreat to a neutral corner to cool my fevered brow, and wonder if the author found my response on the other thread to be "impassioned". That would be way cool. And a first. What a delicious thought to have as I drift off to the Land of Nod tonight: ".....emotions ran high and the readers veritably swooned, as bloggers, replete with our own p1ywood, seized the day and impassionedly stated the obvious".(...sigh...)

We should be seeing Lane's familiar screen names lamenting the horror of this humor filled satire on the FBI making arrests around town joined by a Hoboken mom by now?

Where is the little paid Mason operative? Should have seen three screen names by now. Must be a cease and desist Mason order.

Some debate.

khoboken, I'll take that and raise you one. I've seen my blog described as 'controversial'.

That response is uniquely Hoboken. I have never heard that humorless, nasty bastion of misinformation, spin and smear, Hoboken411, ever described as "controversial" by the Hoboken Reporter or any other local news outlet.

Oh no. In her city-wide anti-HUMC mailer, Beth Mason called H411 a "news source".

But political satire by a REFORM blogger, is labeled as "controversial" by our anti-Reform press. And I mean you, Hoboken Reporter. And that himbo over at the JJ, Augie Torres who takes dictation from the Dark Side.

MY blog has over 700 posts with hundreds of original graphics, but our lazy media harkens back to the same 2 images and now 2 sentences plucked out of their satirical context spun to be something sinister, BY Beth mason's paid operative, Lane Bajardi.

There is NOTHING controversial about political satire; it is a great American tradition. But in Hoboken, it's "controversial". Why? Because I'm doing it. And I support Reform.

And that's all you need to know.

From the Columbia Encyclopedia:

http://www.pbs.org/now/politics/satire.html

From ancient times satirists have shared a common aim: to expose foolishness in all its guises — vanity, hypocrisy, pedantry, idolatry, bigotry, sentimentality — and to effect reform through such exposure. The many diverse forms their statements have taken reflect the origin of the word satire, which is derived from the Latin satura, meaning "dish of mixed fruits," hence a medley.

I was chatting with a friend about the latest media onslaught, and he said that this would never have happened on the other side of the Hudson, in NYC. But to in our provincial little burb, political satire is to be responded with condemnation, finger wagging and excessive media attention to its author. It's pro-REFORM author.

Yes, khoboken. The lazy media takes the narrative of the political operative who has pulled my work out of context deliberately to distort it's meaning. Then the lazy media run with the political operative's narrative to call the out-of-context piece "controversial", and ask if the blogger has gone "too far".

If you ask me, The Hoboken Reporter and other media outlets have once again, gone too far, in servicing the political operatives of Beth and Ricky Mason.

Please read my rebuttal to Mason's dopey letter:

What an idiotic article. HAae you even read the comments that were posted? Where is the debate? Ricky wrote a dumb letter that has been thoroughly trashed and exposed for the sham that it is. Actually, he made it far too easy. And there is a total of 10 posts on the original letter? So where is the "debate" raging on over the weekend? Are you just trying to stir the pot? I see there is no by line on this juvenile attempt at journalism. What's the matter, Ray? Too embarrassed by this crap? But then, crap is what one has come to expect from your rag.

Please read my rebuttal to the above-mentioned letter at:

http://grafixavenger.blogspot.com/2011/09/new-reader-oientation.html

In it, you'll discover the genesis of Mr. Mason's rage (against me) and the disingenuousness of this letter's timing.

Of further interest, Mile Square View reported in last week's Premium Content that the Masons have a notorious Hoboken thug on their payroll. The amount of Mason money reportedly paid to this thug was $400 per week. This all according to MSV.

Mr. Mason, confirm or deny.

More about said thug: on the night of September 13th, outside the Board of Education building, he performed his thugly services on yours truly in the presence of none other than Ray Smith of The Hoboken Reporter and 5 witnesses. The incident was a performance designed to intimidate, but it struck me as a street ballet.

GA featured 2 posts about the incident:

http://grafixavenger.blogspot.com/2011/09/dancing-in-street.html

http://grafixavenger.blogspot.com/2011/09/smart-shopper.html

Hoboken Reporter, how about writing about the BULLY intimidating a public school parent attending a BoE meeting instead of ME, for a change?

From where I stand, real danger lies for those who dare challenge the Masons. Starting with the conflation of pure satire into wild, threatening scenarios then getting their pals in the press to write stories for them and publish their dopey letters.

there's an error in your headline. there is actually no "debate" at all. ricky wrote a ridiculous, disingenuous letter that in many ways is funnier than the satire on GA's site. the comments merely give him the deserved smackdown, and link to a recent GA post that spells out why.

also, it would be a "debate" if any of the comments defended ricky. but none do, even his wife's political hack cronies are leaving him hanging out to dry.

someone doth protest too much.
