Founded in 1983, The Hudson Reporter publishes nine weekly newspapers, capturing the highest home-delivered circulation of any newspaper in Hudson County. Our award-winning periodicals also include specialty publications and two, glossy magazines: Jersey City Magazine and Palisade.

The past few years have brought tremendous change to the western banks of the Hudson River.

As newcomers flock to the area and explore their surroundings, long-time residents are meeting their neighbors - and discovering new opportunities - at every turn.

Luxury developments line the riverbanks, and boutiques, restaurants and art galleries are opening every week. Young families fill the streets with baby carriages. Empty nesters and young artists wait together for trains running along the expanding light rail system.

But change can be hard. Transformation does not come easily.

How does one gain a sense of community in a new and evolving place? Where can you turn for resources, entertainment and a bird's-eye view of our home along the Hudson?

We created hudsonreporter.com to answer some of those questions, yet we hope it will do more. We'd like our site to be a sort of meeting place a town square, if you will, where you can read about the people, politics and places that make living here so exciting.

I enjoyed reading Al Sullivan's article on Rev. Dorothy Patterson, the new pastor at the Wallace Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. I happened to be the only visitor at the church on August1, 2010. I joined the congregation in the company of my lovely sister and her husband who are residents of Beyonne. I can simply state that I was at the right place at the right time. The Rev's awe inspiring presence, well delivered message and sense of purpose and direction all made for a soul nourishing experience for the Zimbabwean guests. I congratulate the church for the acquisition of such a dynamic head of the flock and pray for more blessings.Regards

As stated on the MMSFRAUD message board on Googlegroups:

"Deputy at Judge Stern's office and he states that he has only received 20 motions to dismiss. PLEASE PLEASE fill out the template or send your case. He says the judge is aware of the situation and is reading each individual motion. We are making good NOISE! They also will be rescheduling the June 7th date to July 19th 10am because they "NOW have evidence that they have to sort out and try to figure out how to handle the hearing on the 7/19" thanks and please again fill out the petition it is not too late"

As you can see, the hearing has been pushed back again because people are opposing the bankruptcy. But it's gonna take more of us to be heard. Please check out the Googlegroups at

http://groups.google.com/group/mmsfraud

for further details. It's free and easy to sign up.

I also have email correspondence up until April 2010 with Sonia writing that my albums would be completed by the end of April. when I called to check on the progress of the albums I heard the bankruptcy message. In addition, last year she charged an extra $500 because she added 4 photos to our album that would "make the story of our wedding day more complete."

My primary complaint is with MMP, Sonia and Lucy. But my other complaint is with New Jersey BBB, because this is the third wedding photographer to go out of business in the are and take money from NJ/NY brides. Who is protecting our rights? It seems like the only people that are being protected are the business owners who have legally hidden their assets, what about the consumer who makes the economy run. I feel like a change in this process should be demanded, because at this rate, next year another company will go under, and more people are stranded just like all of us.

All submissions to the Trustee must be made by May 7, 2010 and any statements must be accompanied by proof. Please keep in mind that there are very few things that will prevent the Trustee from discharging the debts. Two main things that one may attempt to prove are that there are assets of the corporation elsewhere that have not been disclosed in the bankruptcy action and that the individual shareholders were distributing money to themselves for personal use despite the corporation's almost insolvent status. That is why it's important to provide copies of any checks that you have made payable to any of the shareholders individually instead of the corporation or that have been deposited into an account that is not listed on the bankruptcy petition and to obtain as much information about Escape to Beauty and its assets and its relationship to Mario Michele, etc. I realize many have been told they have no recourse and it's not important to show up to the creditors' meeting. However, it's not a 100% guarantee that the bankruptcy action will end one way or the other. So, it's in everyone's best interest to get involved and do what can be done to prove the above.

My husband went and the case is still open. There will be another session at the end of June. We are collecting emails in an effort to file a petition with the judge. For more details, please provide us with your email address to mariomichellespetition@gmail.com.

The petition is to prove that they were fradualently using our money. If you wrote a personal check to either Lucy or Sonia, please email us immediately. If you have signed documentation that they were to provide you a service (i.e. album, video) by a specific date, please email us.

Lets all pool together as team....and let justice prevail.

Tomorrow is the day where we pick up our stuff at their Hoboken offices from 10 - 12. Hope to see you all there and perhaps we can share stories and find a way to legally go after them.

Fraud is very hard to prove. Misappropriation of funds is not though. If these people used the money for an extravagant life style then U can go afer their personal stuff, even jail time. All 3drive expensive cars(Mercedes Benz). They live in expensive homes. I know from people who have worked in the studio they spent a to of money on Sonia's wedding. They have people over constantly. I have driven by 3 times and have seen parties. If you want to get these people this is the angle you have to take.

Does anyone know if any recourse can be taking at this point? Is there anyone to contact? Anything that can be done.

We are in the same boat. Married in 2008. Made numerous phone calls and sent numerous emails. Only received one returned email message that said they were running behind. That's it. Could never get a status, progress report, or any inkling of where in the process our albums were. Considering we never got the proof of the album and additional parent albums we ordered, I imagine they never made it from their studio to the album company.

It's sickening to see this Escape to Beauty business sharing the same retail space in both Ridgewood and Hoboken.

I spoke to a Bankruptcy Attorney who told me that FRAUD is a very difficult charge to prove. I would be interested to see you make out. Basically, the attorney told me that we are pretty much without recourse. Nada. Nothing. Zero.

To think I didn't invite people to our wedding because we couldn't afford to makes me sick. Please share any positive results.

I don't know yet but would like to press AT LEAST fraud charges. I have similar emails myself - SO glad I saved EVERYTHING! I'm eager to see if my album is actually in process as they put in writing it was late last year...

I agree - none of them can be trusted and I dare them to start another business once they walk away scott free from THIS mess!! NO vendors will work with them and NO consumers with any scruples will hire them!

Can you give me more information about crminial charges? They are indeed fraud and in my book criminals. I have emails from Lucia Nobili-Fazio (Lucy), Sonia Crews and Jack Crews saying that my albums were in process, but of course, per their Law Firm they were never were submitted into the album company. I don't know how Lucia Nobili-Fazio (Lucy), Sonia Crews and Jack Crews can have a straight face and lie to their clients. They even went so far to have us select the picture, and complete and sign a form -- as if they were going to send it in - conartists to the true form.

Bella Italia - you have some great suggestions, but I am not sure why you have not acted upon them? I don't want to waste time picketing or creating fliers, I want tangible results. But hey if you have the time go for it. When you post make sure to use their full names that way in internet search it comes up.

Sonia Crews has another business called Escape to Beauty -- BRides please please do not give her any business. She is a liar and thief along with her husband Jack Crews and mother Lucia Nobili-Fazio!!!!

My husband and I got married last spring and paid MMS in total (including invitations, engagement photos and a few other things) close to $10k. As you can guess we have yet to received any finished products (from our wedding) and we are livid.

I spoke with Christina at their attorney's office yesterday and it looks like there will be no assets available for distribution. Seems that approximately 90 days from the hearing (on April 22) they are also ABSOLVED of ALL debts!!! However if any of you made checks out to Lucy directly you might be able to pursue her in small claims court. I also heard of some clients pressing CRIMINAL charges so I'm going to look into that option.

Hello,

We hired Mr. Sachin Gupta to represent us prior to MMS filing bankruptcy. MMS filed Chapter 7 and in their file they are proctected against any law suits. Their lawyer contacted our lawyer (Sachin) and we had to drop the case, unfortunatley.

Here are the contact details for MMS Lawyer who is very helpful.

Tel: 201-487-6000. Ask to speak to Christine.

If anyone has a lawyer they recommend, please forward to me. I am also planning on taking legal action against them. Like everyone else I also did not receive my album, proofs, or digital pictures. Please contact me at a.moronta@hotmail.com if you are also suing and have a lawyer you recommend.

I went to thier location in Hoboken and left them a letter under the door- asking them to please provide me with at least the digital pictures on a CD. Today I received a phone call from their lawyer advising me not to contact them - bc I can get into a lot of trouble and be penalized - whatever that means.

She said that in fifteen days we will all get a letter in the mail with a date and time we can go pick up whatever MMS have of ours, (proofs, video, etc). If your album was sent out to be produced, they will provide you with the name and phone# of who is producting your album and you will be able to contact them directly.

My husband and I are in the same situation with Mario Michele. We were married in June 2008 and have yet to receive our albums or our video. They have the proofs we selected for the albums plus our baby pics that were supposed to go in the video. We just heard that they filed for bankruptcy. If anyone can help us, please let me know!!
